Application Fee
- General / OBC / EWS: ₹500
- SC / ST / PwBD / Female / Minorities / EBC: ₹250
- Fee refund: candidates who appear in the first-stage CBT get a refund of ₹400 (General/OBC/EWS) or the full ₹250 (reserved categories), as per RRB rules.
- Application correction: ₹250 modification fee per correction during the 9–18 November window.
- Payment mode: online only — UPI, debit/credit card or net banking.
Age Limit (as on 1 January 2027)
- Minimum age: 18 years; maximum age: 33 years for unreserved candidates.
- SC / ST: 5 years relaxation (up to 38 years)
- OBC (NCL): 3 years relaxation (up to 36 years)
- PwBD: 10 years (UR), 13 years (OBC), 15 years (SC/ST) relaxation

CBT-1 covers General Awareness (40 questions), Mathematics (30) and General Intelligence & Reasoning (30). CBT-2 goes deeper with General Awareness (50), Mathematics (35) and Reasoning (35). There is negative marking of one-third mark for every wrong answer, so accuracy matters as much as speed.
